Beautiful Baby from Inside out

My ceramic statement about the beautiful and the ugly, the wanted and the unwanted.

We beautify ourselves with cosmetic surgery. We cut away moles, get breast enhancements, make the thighs smaller. We live in a time where we are trying to wrap ourselves in a perfect outer shell. In reality it may be in our own distinctive characteristic that the beautiful is found. The traces that life gives us help make us who we are. To me that is beautiful.
In ceramics the inlet funnel is the symbol of the imperfect – what we cut away. By preserving it it sends a message that the imperfect is unique, peculiar and beautiful.
